(Neumed & Ekphonetic Universal Manuscript Encoding Standard).
Homepage for the NEUMES Project, an interdisciplinary research project to design an Internet-based software infrastructure
for digital transcription of chant music notations, covering Gregorian chant, Byzantine neume notation, and ekphonetic notation.
Goals: a diplomatic facsimile of the source manuscript can be viewed; data can be shared across applications and platforms;
and search or comparison of melodic patterns is computationally feasible. Free licensing for non-commercial, educational, and
cultural uses.

Distributed Digital Library of Chant Manuscript Images
Distributed Digital Library
of Chant Manuscript Images
The Distributed Digital Library of Chant Manuscript Images
is an annotated index of images on the WorldWide Web, maintained by the NEUMES Project.
This index provides a centralized resource for finding images of primary-source manuscripts
containing neume notation for chant.
The index provides hyperlinks to these images it maintains its own
meta-data about each image (including the species of neume notation, geographical and estimated date of origin,
and so forth).
